About the Programme
Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) also called clinical laboratory science is a two year programme that impulse through knowledge of the diagnosis treatment and prevention of disease through the use of clinical laboratory tests. This programme is designed to impart in-depth knowdledge and technical skills of biochemistry, pathology, microbiology and blood bank and it’s application in the healthcare delivery system. The students learnd to perform test that aid in diagnosis and treatment of disease. This programme also equips candidates with the knowledge and skills required to handle advanced lab equipments and perform accurate laboratory tests.
Course Duration and Eligibility
Course: Diploma in Medical Laboratory Treatment
Duration: 2 years
Internship: 6 months
Eligibility: 10+2 with science with minimum 45% of marks as per univeristy norms
However, keeping in view a great majority of 10+2 students from Arts and Commerce stream, college has designed a course of DMLT for them and their marksheet, certificate and registrations are issued by College Authority and not by Srimanta Sankardeva Univeristy of Health Sciences. There are extra Physics, Chemistry and Biology classes (as per 10+2 AHSEC syllabus) for such students from beginning for a period of 6 months also known as bridge course to help students to get a basic idea about the course of Science stream.
N.B. This is to bring into notice that incase of placement of students appearing DMLT Certificate is getting importance in today’s job market irrespective of their stream during H.S.
